Writing this as I enter the New Year is very exciting and rewarding. The position where I stand at right now, going into my last semester as a Junior in college and just launching my podcast is exhilarating. In my last blog I talked about my 2016 as a whole and how it was my foundation year of figuring out what I wanted to do while I’m still in college. Starting fresh with an entire new year is a whole new ball game. I want to take 2017 and kill it. Seriously. I am going to kill this new year because I have set my goals with a definite plan to reach every single one of them.

It’s time to grind bigger and better, shoot for the stars but land on the moon.

For all of you who have set your goals for the new year,

Do you have a set plan for them?

Do you have goals set from each area in your life?

Are your goals bigger than you would dream of?

Do you have a set plan for them?

A goal without a plan is like a brand new car without any gas. You can admire it, cherish it, but you can’t drive it to get anywhere. The same goes for a goal, you can dream about it, obsess over it, but you can’t achieve it if you don’t have a set plan to attain that goal. I have big goals, you have big goals, we all have big goals but not many of us take the time to think out each step that is needed to reach it. I learned that the effective way to achieve a goal successfully is to WRITE it down first of all, and then write out a step by step plan; breaking down each aspect to the day or week in order to stay consistent on it. This way it will be easier for you to follow these stepping stones in order to inch closer to your end goal.

Do you have goals set from each area in your life?

Having a balance of goals that help each aspect of your life is healthy when going into a new year. This is good because it helps you balance a lifestyle that is good emotionally as well as in the workplace. I like to have goals that hit each area which includes, personally/emotionally, socially, business related, and something for fun. We all want to be successful, get money, and be rich in the new year but we can’t forget to grow as individuals as well. As important as it is to make business goals it’s just as important to make personal goals and free will ones just for the hell of it. Making goals for yourself besides business is key because you need to make sure you are fulfilling yourself and not just your bank. Therefore, have goals that touch each area of your life.

Are your goals bigger than you would dream of?

If your answer is ‘no’. Make a goal that is bigger than your dreams. Why? Because my goal is to push people out of their comfort zones and their so called ‘limits’ they put on themselves. I want each one of you to make a goal that scares you, make a goal that will really push you beyond what you think is capable. Make 2017 your year, I know I am with my goals and I know you all can too. This is 2017, the year to KILL it! Comfort is the enemy of achievement, you won’t be able to reach those success if you stay in your comfort bubble. A new year, a fresh start, 365 days, so think of an extravagant goal!

Setting an attainable goal and making a plan for it is important but remember to be proud of your goals. Tell the world your goals because you never know who is listening and can potentially help you reach those goals. One of my main goals for 2017 is to make 6 figures with my accelerator program for college students. Not only that but to teach them why it’s so important to build your personal brand while they are in college. I want to show the world that college students can make money while still in school, I am studying two majors and am running a business. So, if I can do it so can you!

2017 is your year. Kill it.
