Seriously, chill out.
While writing the blog I’m thinking about the many times I stressed myself out because I put way too much pressure on myself.
I have stressed myself out during school.
I have stressed myself out about getting an internship.
I have stressed myself out about starting a business.
I have stressed myself out about the progress I should be making.
Looking at the people who I work with everyday who are much older than me, have more experience than me, and have been through a lot of speed bumps to get to where they are at right now makes me realize that I need to trust my journey. I am the most impatient person ever, if you know me I can’t wait to see successes but over the course of a couple years i’ve learned that achievements take time to occur.
I am 20 years old and have already done quite a bit in my life, some people younger and older than me probably have accomplished more, but what matters is the future that is yet to come. Trusting your journey is how you should be approaching life. That doesn’t mean you sit around for successes to come to you, but it means that work will pay off and you just need to wait for it.
If you are in college, you are probably stressing out because you need to get that internship, get good grades, and find that job after you graduate. Maybe you didn’t get that internship that you were hoping for, are you going to dwell on it for the rest of the summer or chill out and move on to the next opportunity? You may feel like not getting an internship or job is the end of the world, but it’s really not. You graduate college, that’s a big milestone in your life so why not go and do what you want to do for a couple months before holding down a job the rest of your life? If you like to travel, go travel for a couple months around the world. Take risks when you’re young because you really don’t have that much responsibility that you need to be present for.
Not only does this relate to your personal well being but it also correlates to business. Your business idea may not be working out, you may have spent months creating this company but once you launch it no customers roll around and you feel like you have failed in life. The most successful people have failed numerous times to get to where they are at now, so don’t dwell on the fact that you may have a couple road blocks throughout your journey because that’s what life is going to do.
So maybe you don’t get that job, that internship, that customer, or heck maybe even failed at a business.
Don’t worry, trust your journey and chill out.
